Phinney Ridge Painting Becomes Key Sponsor to The Greenwood Car Show

At Phinney Ridge Painting, we believe a strong community is built not only with quality craftsmanship but also through connection, support, and shared traditions. That’s why we’re proud to have sponsored one of North Seattle’s most beloved summer traditions: the Greenwood Car Show.

For many Seattle residents, community events are more than just weekend plans—they’re a way of life. And few events embody that spirit like the Greenwood Car Show. Held annually on the last Saturday in June since 1993, the show has grown into a must-attend event in the Greenwood/Phinney Ridge neighborhood. With rows of classic cars, hot rods, custom builds, and vintage trucks lining the streets, it’s a day that blends nostalgia, craftsmanship, and neighborly fun.

This one-of-a-kind event is more than a car show. Organized by the Greenwood Knights—a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the local community—it also raises funds for youth scholarships and local nonprofits. In fact, since 2009, the event has generated more than $250,000 in support for neighborhood causes. So when we heard that the Greenwood Car Show needed additional financial backing this year, we couldn’t pass up the chance to lend a hand.

Although our team didn’t bring a classic car to display, we brought something just as valuable: a deep appreciation for the local community and a booth full of good vibes. Our staff had an incredible time chatting with longtime residents, curious first-timers, car lovers, and familiar faces from past and future painting projects. We were amazed to discover just how much overlap there is between people who love vintage cars and those who love Seattle’s charming vintage homes—our specialty!

Free ice-cold refreshments, snacks, shirts, hats, koozies, and other fun merch made our booth a hub of activity. But more than the giveaways, it was the chance to genuinely connect that made the day so special. The relaxed, festive atmosphere created the perfect opportunity to catch up with old neighbors, meet fellow PhinneyWood business owners, and celebrate the unique character of our community.

Supporting the Greenwood Car Show wasn’t just about visibility or marketing—it was about showing up for the neighborhood that has supported us for years. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event and look forward to being involved for years to come.
